¡Ay caramba! How the mighty have fallen!
I'm sure however, that España didn't get to their No.2 position by sheer luck thus with all due respect to Torres, Villa and gang, the team simply didn't play well in this match.
Even with my shallow knowledge of football/soccer/futbol/..., I have heard how amazing Spain is! How Torres is like, the Messi of Spain (speaking of whom, also needs to make a dent this World Cup outing!). Well, yea, something like that. (Don't get all indignant on me!)
So of course I wanted to see them play. Alas! The attack and defense both looked like jokes. Strikers tried to get near the net and almost always had the ball stolen. Even when they had a good shot on goal, somehow it would miss. Like, ARGHH plus more ARGHHHH! The defenders on the other end couldn't seem to get the ball away from the Swiss so you see lotsa floundering around the goal area.
My brother got irritated and asked me to stop screaming but how can I not when there were so many freaking shots on goal which just couldn't find the net! Top of the net, side of the net just not the back of the net! Must have been frustrating for the Spanish team knowing they were trailing and had a good chance of losing their first match!
Tougher luck for the guy who got kicked in the face. And no, no sympathy for him as well after the winning goal was scored just seconds after. Life sure is tough.
& Iker Casillas! OMG he has got to prove his worth. Switzerland almost scored a 2nd goal. THAT save was quite atrocious.
Anw, gym tomorrow! I conclude I'm fat. Epiphany much? I've always been fat. GAWD, this is such a depressing revelation.
